POSITION: Rigger JOB TYPE: Full Time LOCATION: Los Alamos, New Mexico
Job Description
The qualified Rigger assembles rigging to lift and move equipment components and material during the dismantling and decommissioning of facilities. As a Rigger, this position will be required to understand, comply with, and execute Lift Plans for various type components using fixed cranes and hoists.
• Inspects and prepares loads that need moved
• Selects appropriate rigging gear
• Prepares rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts
• Inspects rigging before final use
• Monitors and maintains rigging equipment
• Maneuvers loads using heaving equipment and by hand
• Breaks down rigging equipment and conducts post-rigging inspections
• Ensures compliance with state, customer, and company safety procedures
• Communicates with rigging and project management team
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years work-related experience as a Rigger including knowledge of hitch configurations, capacities, and basic knots
• Minimum Level 1 NCCCO certification
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
• Ability to work with others, take direction and communicate effectively
• Physical fitness including ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds, work at heights, work in noisy environment, see well (naturally or with correction), climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects
• U.S. Citizen
• Offer contingent upon results of background check and pre-employment drug test

• HAZWOPER 40 Hour Training
• Radiological Worker II Training
• DOE/DOD project experience preferred
