POSITION: Environmental Technician JOB TYPE: Full Time LOCATION: Livermore, CA

Job Description

The qualified environmental Technician will support Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the demolition and disposal of a decommissioned experimental reactor in Livermore, CA.

• Duties will include general labor

• Support of sampling activities

• Calibration sampling and monitoring equipment

• Sample preparation, packaging, and labeling

• Maintaining field logbooks and other records

• Completing sample COCs

• Support the on-site Lead Waste Manager and the on-site HSO as required

Job Requirements

• Will be required to perform a pre-employment physical

• Minimum High School Diploma

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Environmental Technician

• Additional site-specific training will be required

• 5–10-hour workdays (50 hours per week)

• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test

• Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the DOE complex preferred

• Radiological Worker I or II

• HAZWOPER

• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification

• First Aid

• Experience with beryllium projects
