Software Engineer Founded in 1976, Los Alamos Technical Associates (LATA) provides technical and project management services to a varied clientele including federal agencies, state governments, municipalities, and a broad range of private sector industrial clients. LATA is currently looking for an experienced, accomplished, self-motivated Software Engineer to provide SME support for the development of test software for optical and fiber optics testing. The Software Engineer will work across a variety of functional groups that are directly involved in engineering, product development, implementation, and manufacturing partners. The ideal candidate is an inventive problem solver that is capable of working through technical challenges and employing pragmatic solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that provides integrated services to meet our clients’ needs both locally and across the globe. This position requires an Active DOE Q-Clearance. Responsibilities for Software Engineer • Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. • Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies. • Test software development methodology. • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve solutions. • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Qualifications for Software Engineer • Strong DevOps focus and experience modifying or creating tester software (VB or C# in Visual Studio. • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks. • Experience with creating or modifying SQA test cases. • Experience in the use of electrical engineering software • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or relevant Experience in Lieu of a Degree • The position requires an Active DOE Q Clearance New employees are required to submit to a background check and Employment is contingent upon passing LATA is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Affirmative Action Employer and is committed to diversity in its workforce.
